My Project

I believe that a classroom library is the heartbeat of a teacher's environment and it reflects the importance of literacy in the classroom. I am privileged to have a wonderful supply of classroom library books for my students to read. I have every genre and every level: picture books, chapter books, fiction, and nonfiction. Most of the books have been passed down from other teachers or donated by the community. Each school year, I set up my library the same way, BUT this year I have to make a change!

My students deserve a library worth spending time in and an area they can cozy up to read a good book or even complete some independent work.

The donation of the JELA floor sofa as a part of my library will ensure a warm, comfortable place to curl up with a good book. The NuLoom handprint rug will catch the eye of anyone walking into the room. Most of my book bins have been passed down and have seen better days. Having new brightly colored book bins to place all my amazing books will be a welcomed addition to this newly remodeled space. Keeping the library organized may be a daunting task, but with the help of my "librarian" and the color-coded circle dots, this task will be more manageable!
