This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a lycra swing and swing stand to support my students' sensory regulation. The swing will provide calming rhythmic movement. Swinging provides essential vestibular input that helps promote calmness and focus particularly for those students with sensory processing challenges. Integrating a swing into our environment will enhance their ability to self-regulate and overall engagement in learning activities. Swinging helps children develop their vestibular system, which is responsible for balance, spatial awareness, and coordination. The rhythmic motion of swinging stimulates this system and helps children process sensory information more effectively. Swinging can be a calming and soothing activity for children, especially those with sensory sensitivities or anxiety. The gentle rocking motion can help them regulate their emotions and feel more relaxed and grounded.
