My Students

Our school corporation is a rural district, trying to equip our students with the skills and experiences to be successful in our ever-changing world. I have the privilege to teach first grade, in our small rural district.

My first grade students are excited about the world around them.

As their teacher, it is my goal to create opportunities to make them curious about the world around them. My goal is to empower them to ask questions and find answers. My students are world changers.

My Project

My students need more fiction chapter books and a storage bench where they can keep them. My students would love to sit on the storage bench and read these great titles!

My students love reading and need more books!

My students love finding great characters and would love the chance to have more diverse stories! We have a Daily Five time where students can choose books and review and recommend them to their classmates. The addition of the storage bench and the new books would greatly enhance our ability to strengthen their reading skills! The new books like, Monkey Me and Amelia Bedelia, are filled with fun characters that my first grade students can relate to. We love the Chicken Squad and Branches books because they put chapter books at my first grade readers' level. Thank you for helping our readers become leaders!
