Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I'm a school counselor that works with elementary school students that come from diverse cultures and socioeconomic statuses. In our school, we deeply value the social-emotional learning of all of our students and believe in the importance of providing students with group and individual counseling to enhance their development.

My students are unique young individuals that enjoy and benefit from different types of seating that allows them to feel at ease during counseling sessions.

My Project

I'll be working inside our school building providing counseling for all students as they return after being six months away from the building, their friends, and staff members that they used to see on a daily basis.

My counseling office will provide a safe and confidential space for students to talk, play, and reflect on important events that have happened in their lives.

Currently, my office has regular hard chairs for students to use. Although useful, these chairs don't provide much comfort for students. With the cozy chairs and ottomans, students will be able to sit back and relax as they open up to discuss topics that may not be so comfortable for them to talk about. My students and I would be excited to have these cool and comfy chairs in our room. We appreciate your support!
