My Students

We are a school that is home to over 600 rural students who service students not just academically but are there to foster meaningful relationships that last a lifetime. I am currently transitioning from Special Education to a 5th-grade general education position which I am more than excited about! My goal is to make sure that I am able to reach all students that come to my classroom especially students that struggle academically.

My goal is to make sure that students when they finally arrive back to school from COVID-19 they feel safe and secure, and are able to feel comfortable spending their time in my classroom.

I hope to expand their vocabulary, further their understanding of grade-level text, and show them alternative ways to make learning fun.

My Project

This project was created because I feel that my students as soon as they walk into my classroom need to feel safe and secure. I want students to be able to be comfortable when reading instead of traditional seating that nobody likes to sit in. I never enjoy sitting in a hard chair when I am reading a good book. Its always in a comfy chair. This is why I am wanting to add additional alternative seating to my classroom.

This project will go along way to creating a reading center that I have envisioned for my classroom.

I want to have a rug that students know they can lay on, and swivel chairs/bouncy seats that allow students to learn new information in a way that goes away from the norm.
