My Project

Help my young students develop their love of reading by creating spaces that are cozy, inviting, and inclusive of all.

This rug will allow all students in the classes to sit together and enjoy a read aloud in the school library.

Our current large class sizes have excluded students from story time when they cannot fit on the small rug. Our younger students especially need to feel included and part of the reading community.

The flexible seating will allow students to continue to read comfortable while being independent. Building a culture of reading includes addressing the physical needs of students.

Encouraging readers to find a cozy comfortable space to engage with their choice of literature provides a positive environment to foster the growth of young readers.
