My Project

As a special education teacher in a low-income, high-poverty school district, I face challenges daily, both in and out of the classroom. Despite these obstacles, I am committed to creating positive and meaningful learning experiences for my students. They truly are my world!

Many of my students come from single-parent households and qualify for free lunch due to their socioeconomic status.

These circumstances can limit their opportunities and prevent them from having the life experiences many of us consider typical. However, from the moment they step into my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth, emphasizing their strengths rather than their disabilities. While I can't control their home lives, I can provide a supportive and nurturing environment during the school day. I am lucky to spend each day with them, and through creativity and positivity, I hope to inspire even our youngest learners to stay on a path toward academic success.

With materials like bean bag chairs, pillows, and classroom supplies, my students would have a cozy, tranquil, and safe space to engage in reading and immerse themselves in literature. This environment would encourage them to feel comfortable and focused, allowing them to explore new worlds through books.
