My Project

These items for my reading and math centers will make a difference in the students learning, by giving them a sense of confidence. Seeing their reading and math areas look comfortable, cozy and warm will give them an incentive to want

to go into the areas and read and practice their math.

I want the students to sit in the center areas and feel cared about, calm and very comfortable.

Currently, we are not able to sit in the reading or math area. The students would have to sit on the floor and this is not conducive to what I am trying to convey and accomplish in my classroom. I want my students to want to read and practice their math in centers that are full of bright colors, soft, cozy and makes them feel great.

The goal for this project is to have the reading and math centers finished, furnished and comfortable with bean bags and rugs for the students to sit on while reading and/or practicing their math problems. Students work better when they are focused and comfortable. Also, having a printer in the class would support us tremendously because there is only one printer/copy machine in our entire school building for all of the teachers to use and this causes huge delays in getting the work copied for the students.

What makes my students special is their sense of humor, the new things they learn, with support, they take more responsibility for their learning, hardworking, eager to learn, actively participate in class and they want to please their teachers. *Ultimately, they are my students.
