Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Welcome to our third-grade classroom, a place for learning and growing. Our goal is to create a cozy corner for our third graders to encourage reading. We want them to build a passion for books, and there is no better way than having a cozy, safe place to read, no matter the distractions.

Cozy corners let children know there is a place for them to go when they need to re-center, re-focus, and get back to work in the midst of a busy classroom.

Reading is fundamental, and we want to encourage our newcomers and other students to develop a strong passion and curiosity for reading.

In addition, cozy corners are great for brain breaks. They encourage students to develop important emotional skills, such as acknowledging their emotions and finding self-soothing techniques to decompress.
