My Students

Our school ranges from K-6th grade and has approximately 250-300 students. We are a Title I, Gold Ribbon, and Lighthouse School. Many of our students come from a variety of economic background. Approximately 69% are socioeconomically disadvantaged. My students are motivated and curious learners who work hard and follow the school's Mission Statement: "Learn, Love, Lead." My students are thrilled and motivated to be at our school!

We are also a Leader in Me School in which students live the 7 Habits.

This program promotes students to have positive relationships with their peers, adults, and family. As 21st century learners, the 7 habits will strengthen their leadership skills and prepare them for the future. I have a group of students who are curious and excited to learn and apply these habits.

My Project

In order to get the little ones to read on their own, they also need an environment where it is enjoyable for them to read at.

My classroom is part of the old building which comes with old furnitures, so I would like to upgrade my library shelves so that I can better organize the books for the students.

I want to make the library center as cozy as possible so they feel comfortable. Sitting on the floor for awhile can be uncomfortable for them, therefore, having these seating pads will make it more comfortable to sit on the floor and enjoy reading. These seating pads can also provide flexible seating and some students can actually use it on their chair as a cushion (some students may need that!) After being virtual for a year, the students will be excited to come back to a cozy classroom ready for them.
