Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students experience many emotions throughout the school day. My students are smart, caring, hardworking, resilient, dual language (Spanish) learners that are learning ways to manage emotions related academic and interpersonal stressors.

The goals of this project is to increase access to fun, interactive, and educational tools that address student's social and emotional needs and build upon student's SEL skills.

Creating an inclusive counseling space with varied materials that accommodate the needs of all students is important. The board games provide students with the opportunity to practice important social skills such as working together and taking turns, while also improving frustration tolerance and practice coping skills for emotional regulation. Slime can support in improving student’s overall mood by reducing anxiety and stress. The color printer and laminator will facilitate access to bilingual mental health resources for students and parents in their native language. The calming corner classroom mirror display and foam inspirational motivational appreciation sayings boost self-esteem and confidence as students are affirmed through positive messages about their self- worth.
