Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love my students’ curiosity, resilience, and eagerness to connect with stories that expand their worldviews. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to our classroom discussions, but many face challenges that make focusing difficult. Comfy reading chairs will create a welcoming space that encourages engagement with texts, fidgets will help students with sensory needs stay calm and focused, and snacks will provide nourishment so they can concentrate without distraction. My goal is to foster a supportive environment where all students feel excited to explore impactful stories like “Before We Were Free” and “A Long Way Down.” My students are special because they approach each book with open minds and hearts, and this project will help them thrive as thoughtful, lifelong learners.
