My Project

This will be my 21st year teaching in NYC. This year I will be incorporating a cozy corner and maker space for students. The cozy corner will allow students a safe space to de-stress and unwind. This is where the students can go to feel comfortable to decompress when they are feeling overwhelmed.

The products that I selected such as the bubbler toy and breathing ball are sensory related giving them the ability to deescalate when feeling stressed and overwhelmed.

Having the opportunity to feel comfortable in their learning environment is important for all students.

The maker space is another area of the classroom where the students will be able to build and create new ideas as they work with peers and incorporate 21st learning skills. The clipboards, dry erase, and cork board will allow for their planning to help create amazing projects in our maker space area.

Giving students the ability to express themselves is an important part of Social Emotional Learning and a big part of being in an elementary classroom, please help me create an amazing classroom for my students!
