This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My high school students are a diverse group with unique personalities, talents, and perspectives. They are curious, eager to learn, and constantly challenge me to think creatively and adapt my teaching to meet their needs. As a teacher, I would use the couch, bookshelf, pillows, lighting, rug, and decor to create a cozy and inviting reading corner in my high school classroom.
The couch would provide a comfortable seating option for students to relax while they read, encouraging a more informal and enjoyable reading experience.
The bookshelf would be stocked with a diverse selection of books to cater to various interests and reading levels, making it easy for students to find something that appeals to them. Soft pillows would add extra comfort, while strategically placed lighting would create a warm and welcoming ambiance, making the reading corner a pleasant place to spend time. A plush rug would define the space and add a touch of coziness underfoot, helping to separate the reading area from the rest of the classroom. Finally, carefully chosen decor, such as inspirational quotes, posters, or plants, would enhance the atmosphere, making the corner an inviting and inspiring space where students feel encouraged to explore new worlds through reading.
