Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This bean bag chair will offer a comfortable and inviting place for students to sit, while the weighted blanket provides a soothing sensory experience to help them relate their feelings.

These resources will make a huge difference in my students' ability to engage in learning.

When overwhelmed, students will sink into the embracing comfort of the bean bag chair while the gentle pressure of the weighted blanket helps ground them. This sensory combination naturally calms the nervous system, helping students return to learning ready and focused.

My students face their daily challenges with remarkable resilience and determination. Many come from backgrounds where emotional support resources are limited. By creating this thoughtfully equipped calming space, we're not just teaching academic skills – we're empowering students with lifelong strategies for emotional regulation and self-care.
