My Project

This year, I have a new seating option in my class. I moved our library rug to a new area of the classroom and created a math corner where students can do counting collections and engage with our abundant math manipulatives. I was able to drop a table down for floor seating but other than the thin carpet, my students will have to sit on the hard floor.

These floor cushions will ensure that they can be comfortable while mastering math.

Additionally, I am requesting a small rug for our library to replace the carpet what was moved to our math corner. This will allow for a small space off of the linoleum for students to read and enjoy the classroom library.

Finally, I've added two fake plants. I used to keep live plants in the classroom because it added to our calm environment and seemed to really positively impact my students' mental health. Unfortunately, live plants are no longer allowed and so we are in need of new, artificial ones.
