My Students

My classroom is diverse. My students come from a range of backgrounds, cultures, and languages. They are creative, energetic, and eager to learn. Many of them are English Language Learners and building connections between them, fostering a sense of community, and inviting their knowledge into the classroom has been a rewarding challenge.

This year, students will become empowered as they express themselves and explore their identities in the classroom.

We will play, make art, use language, investigate the natural world, and build- keeping each individual identity and their contribution to the community at the forefront of our discussion. My class is full of bold and bright personalities. I look forward to developing skills that will serve them to share more of themselves.

My Project

I would like to create a cozy classroom. Students learn best in environments that are warm and inviting. A proper rug for them to sit at while doing independent or collaborative work and warm lights that are not harsh on the eyes will help create the space needed for a calm classroom. I would like to create a cozy space so my students feel safe. In this space, they are invited to explore, express, and learn freely. The classroom should be a place that they want to be and is reflective of their needs.
