Flexible seating empowers students to choose where they will learn best. My students are allowed to choose the seating option they feel works best for them during both whole group instruction and independent work time. I've been blessed with many choices, such as, lap desks, clipboards, wobble stools, and cushions. The one thing I am missing is a comfortable classroom rug!
A cozy classroom rug will provide a comfortable area for students to sit and learn together.
The rug I have chosen is big enough to comfortably sit my fifth-grade students and will provide a cozy alternative to the tile floors. This rug will also provide a space for us to hold morning meetings, Socratic seminars, and more for many years to come.
