Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year my students make the most out of the cozy corner area in our classroom. Kids will always need a moment to decompress and regulate their emotions and I am happy to provide them with the tools and space for it. But, I can't do it on my own! I need your help to make our cozy corner area the best it can be this year!

This year I would love to bring in more meaningful and engaging "toys" and materials that I know our third graders will really enjoy using in a time of emotional need.

In addition to new calming down posters, this project will be bringing in a color sorting activity, a magnetic tile set, a stone stacking activity, and even some sensory mats to really help my students calm down, think, and return to a calm state of mind whenever they need it. These may look like preschool toys, but the benefits of their use extend beyond the targeted audience age and I am positive my students will love them! Kids will always be kids, and so toys are always a great thing for a much-needed mental break sometimes! I've also included bags and labels to help us keep everything organized in our cozy corner space.

All students deserve a safe space to regulate their emotions! Help me make it the best!
