My Project

Our school is a Title I school, all students qualify for free/reduced lunch. Housing, food security, safety, and stability are all issues our students deal with on a daily basis. For the more than a year, we have lost track of many of our students. They just did not show up, putting them at risk in literacy. Our students face many challenges in their communities and when they come to the classroom I want them to be able to have a place to learn to read and enjoy reading books. In our project we added a set of Judy Moody books for us to read. We also wanted a few reading buddies for us to read to or to hold as we do our independent reading. There is also some lighting added, so that we can read our books by soft lighting and not with the glare of florescent lighting that usually hurt our eyes.
