Cozy Classroom Comforts

My Students

I teach the sweetest bunch of 3rd graders who come from varying backgrounds, including transient military families and low-income households. We have been recognized as a Global-Ready School for teaching globally-minded, future leaders. Through a program known as Leader in Me, we also strive to practice the 7 habits of happy kids throughout our school days.

When the atmosphere encourages learning, the learning is irresistible.

My students learn best through hands-on, authentic experiences that allow them to move throughout the classroom. My students particularly enjoy dancing, singing, and group jump rope games.

My Project

My students love to move around the room and work independently. They need chair cushions and and lap desks to be able to work on their computers in different spaces around the room.

The "meeting rug" is an integral part of our school days and is essential to our classroom family.

We start every morning at the rug, enjoy literacy circles, group discussions, presentations and more...it is our main gathering place. Our current rug is torn, stained, and in bad shape, so we are needing a new one.

I suffer from migraines and have 3 students in my class with severe vision problems. We would like lamps in our classroom to reduce our need for florescent lighting.
