My Students

I haven't had the honor of meeting my students this year yet, but that doesn’t mean that I'm not already thinking about all of their needs. Most importantly, I am thinking about what is best for their learning and safety in this new educational world where they are required to be socially distant and their overall safety and well-being are at an all-time HIGH.

Many of my students come from low income households.

Our school is a Title I school and despite financial strains, my students are eager to connect with me and their peers. I know my students are thrilled to be back in the school routine and ready to show me what they know! We will be working to learn and grow as readers, authors, and mathematicians. My SpEd students are capable of ANYTHING, but with your help, we can do even more.

My Project

The classroom carpet is a common meeting place for students and myself. Concepts are introduced and practiced. Stories are heard. Thinking takes place. We can gather around something new and explore it together. It's that one special place where everyone feels welcome and everyone knows that something new and exciting is about to take place!

The carpet is a home inside a classroom, fostering learning and creativity.

My students will have the opportunity to have a place where they can all comfortably come together for our special time during the day. Community is so critical in developing confident, capable learners. By having a classroom carpet, the students will have a chance to get out of their chairs and come together to learn up close and personal!
