Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As educators in a Title I-funded public school in New York City, we are committed to providing our students with the resources they need to succeed in the digital age. Our kindergarten ICT/ENL class predominantly comprises Hispanic students, many of whom come from homes where Spanish is the primary language. Despite the challenges they face in learning English, our students demonstrate a remarkable willingness to learn and excel.

My students would benefit from having a cozy carpet to sit on during small group instruction and reading time.

I work in an ICT/ENL classroom, so my co-teacher and I do parallel teaching. Parallel teaching allows us to modify instruction to each group of students. Currently, we do not have a comfortable area for small group instruction. Having a cozy carpet would help students sit comfortably and maximize their learning time.

In addition to the carpet, I requested five headphones that are needed. I wanted to make sure all students have comfortable headphones when using technology during small group instruction.
