Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Self-regulation can be described as the ability to understand and manage your own behavior and reactions. Self-regulation is taught with in-class strategies to help children identify what they are feeling and how to respond in positive ways to help themselves. Self-regulation can also be achieved when we change our environment.

The calming room at P.S.

32 will help students take a break in an area that will promote self-organization and sensory integration. The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will contribute to the on-going creation of this Zen oasis. The cozy canoes will introduce another form of adaptive seating and is different from other seating options within the building.
