My Project

The importance of reading for fun and its impact on high school students' achievement and well-being is widely accepted. Currently, there isn't a nice space for students to peruse our classroom library or sit and read. Making sure students are comfortable helps with their motivation to read.

Creating a welcoming and relaxing book corner will play an important part in developing a reading-for-fun culture.

This space will serve as a functional space to house our classroom library and a relaxing space to encourage students to step away from the busyness of school and read for fun.

My students who want a warm and functional space to read or work away from the traditional school desk suggested the items I selected. The rotating bookcases will provide storage and a display for our classroom library. The low table and cushions allow students to work in groups or read comfortably. The students requested a plant stand and lamp to make the reading cranny more home-like.

I have seen how having great books in a classroom can positively impact students. Please help us create a special space for my students to read and relax.
