This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very sweet and hard-working. They come from homes that do not have much. Most of my students come from homes that have single mothers raising them. These single mothers usually work several part-time jobs to get by. Most of these students come to school at 6:30 a.m. in the before-school program and stay until about 5:30 p.m. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner at school. Even though these students have tough challenges in their lives, they still make the most of their day and put forth their best effort. They truly want to excel in school and in life. These students deserve to have all the opportunities that others have despite their daily challenges.
My Project
These cozy blankets will help my students get a good night's rest. Then they will be able to concentrate in school.
Students will use these cozy blankets at home so they can feel warm in order to sleep well, so they will be able to focus better in class.
My students will be happy to have a blanket at home in order to stay warm during these cold winter nights.
Students that are well rested will be able to stay awake all day and focus on their academics. They will also be in a better mood in order to enjoy their day after getting a good night's sleep.
