My Project

My students have traveled the world to arrive in their new home of New York City. You can imagine how hard it is to arrive in an unknown city in a language that you do not know, with a very cold climate!

I hope that with these items our students will find a cozy, warm, and engaging place to be so that their mental health is the best it can be in a very challenging circumstance.

Having weighted stuffed animals, fidget toys, and coloring books will help them decompress during the school day. My students like to come to my classroom during lunch and after school and I hope that by offering soup and hot chocolate we can have a very welcoming atmosphere.
