Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class consists of 21 wonderful and curious students who are learning to read and use technology. Due to the pandemic, this is the first year my students have been in a consistent classroom since 2020. My students have so much potential and are missing some key resources. They work super hard and they are eager and excited to learn. We are a Title I school and all of our students receive free meals throughout the day.

My Project

This project includes a beautiful navy carpet for my classroom and a vacuum to use on it. My students would love a carpet to sit on during whole group instruction. This carpet would give them the opportunity to sit on the ground during instruction. My students are always eager to be close to me and remain engaged during a lesson. They currently sit on the tiled floor for instruction. This carpet would give them a space to sit and focus on the board. Every classroom needs a cozy rug for kids to enjoy.

Classroom rugs are the perfect environment for allergens, and I have chosen a vacuum with a HEPA filter to eliminate them.

Many of my students have asthma and allergies, and having this vacuum would alleviate the class of allergens and dust on the rug. My class would greatly benefit from this carpet and it would be a great addition to the class environment that I am building.
