My Students

I work as a middle school math teacher in a charter school where most of my students' parents are essential workers. The students work hard most days. The students worry about the safety of their parents and other family members daily. During this time, giving the students one less thing to worry about to succeed in the classroom by making sure they have needed supplies would be an amazing gift.

Let having everyday school supplies that the students can access daily and can be cleaned daily be something they can count on to be available every time they need it.

I am excited to see them view the school and my classroom as a safe place where they have the supplies they need at their fingertips every day.

My Project

A calculator and dry erase markers for every student to keep in their classroom binder will give them access to tools that are reusable and disinfectable supplies that can be used in their hands and the hands of their friends. They will be able to clean and disinfect the calculators and dry erase markers at the end of each class period. They will have the ability to store the calculator and dry erase markers in their math binders and not have to share these tools with other students.

They need to be able to have these tools available without feeling the pressure that they will be behind if they are unable to supply these for themself.
