This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am currently working as a physical education teacher at a low-income charter school who serves scholars of New Haven, CT.
Students work incredibly hard in the classroom on academics and look forward to their time in the gym.
We have approximately 150 students. Our students love being active, but we do not have much COVID-19 friendly equipment for our PE class. We appreciate your time and consideration.
My Project
This project is geared towards students being able to engage in games, sports and activities that are COVID friendly in physical education class. The focus of this project is for students to be able to engage in activities that include lacrosse, golf and jump roping.
The equipment requested is a wide variety of new physical activities that students can participate and enjoy safely, especially during this difficult time.
It is so important for our scholars to find ways to explore, and learn about different ways to remain active and enjoy their time doing so.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
