This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the pleasure of working with Pre-School Disabled Students this year . Many of these students have never been in a classroom setting before. For many of them this will be their first formal introduction to learning. This is a very crucial time in their journey thru education.

It is also important that they are safe and healthy at school.

Our elementary school is located in Newark, NJ.

Over 70% of the school population come from low-income families, many of the families being single parent homes. LMMES also has a rather large Special Education population ranging from Behavioral disturbed to Learning Disabled. There are also a small number of students who are just below grade level and may need one-on-one work with the teacher using other resources in order to bring them to grade level standards.

My Project

Many of my students have parents who must return to work, making the students return back to school. Help keep the students and staff as safe as possible with these simple items. Your donation will make a world of difference.

How the materials will be used:

-Honeywell HEPA air filter, will be used to filter classroom air.

-Forehead Thermometer, will be used for temperature checks on students and teachers in the classroom.

-Automatic Disinfectant Machine, will be used as a low contact way of sanitizing students and teachers hands.

-Timer, will be used to give students and teachers a visual to how long they should be washing their hands for.

-Hand Sanitizer, will be used to refill automatic disinfectant machine.

-Disposable Mask and Face Shield will be used to keep transmission of germs to a minimum.

-Baby gate, will be used to keep visitors from freely entering the classroom without properly being checked and sanitized; along with allowing us to keep the classroom door open to maximize the amount of fresh air.
