This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This group of young ladies are dedicated and passionate about the game of softball. The majority of them have very tough home lives and still push themselves everyday to succeed on and off the field. They push each other in a positive way to be better daily and never give up in any aspect of their school day. They have created an atmosphere of family and team, which in some cases does not mirror their home life.

Regardless, of each individuals personal situation, they are always upbeat and positive about school, friends, softball, and their futures.

My Project

The new catchers gear would help our players be COVID safe by providing the individual with their own set of gear. Sharing would no longer be a problem, thus creating a safer playing environment for all players. The players would use the new gear at school during practice and games.

This new gear would be used first and foremost to help prevent the spread of COVID.

In addition, the new gear is needed due to the condition of our current gear. These young ladies come from very low socioeconomic homes and neighborhoods.
