Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Some of my students eventually move on to some of the best performing arts high schools in Manhattan. My singers live in New York City and learn to read, sing and appreciate music. They're students who crave a safe, musical environment to thrive!

These young musicians' faces beam when they have music class, as many come from neighborhood public housing without a lot of opportunities for private music lessons.

My students work diligently to increase their musical aptitudes. I see the process year after year. They're truly increasing their musicality.

My Project

A generous donor gave us a baby grand piano for our chorus classroom to better train us as we prepare for festival season - from The Apollo Theatre to our local, in-school concerts.

Students will learn how to take care of the central item in our classroom by using the cover that we are requesting to keep our baby grand dust free and neat.

Students need to help keep the room in working order and that means teaching responsibility!

Having this baby grand and cover will give these students a sense of great pride. This wonderful piece of equipment can really go far in teaching students to take responsibility for other things in their lives.
