My Project

My students are unique because they have become the majority instead of the minority. My students have families that are too embarrassed to ask for help. These students are coming to school asking to take a shower with warm water and need soap and shampoo to clean themselves. Many of my students are socio-economically disadvantaged and their families do not have the money to buy basic necessities. Several of these students have many siblings and families can provide for one but not all of their children. Some of our students have mishaps during the day and need clean under garments. So many of our female population depend on the school for pads and tampons. Sometimes, they just forget to pack supplies but some students don't have the supplies they need at home. All of this takes a toll on their learning environment. When a student is missing a basic necessity, they are not able to concentrate on class assignments.
