My Students

VHHS is a small, tight-knit, rural community in South Dakota. Our local school is small, averaging class sizes of about 25-30 students. We have a very strong sports program in our school for both men and women. We currently offer volleyball, cross-country, basketball, wrestling, softball, and track and field. The ability to offer such a variety of sports in a small district gives our students many opportunities to participate and succeed.

During the summer months, our athletes take no breaks and are constantly working in our weight room to become better athletes for their respective sports.

As coaches, we strive to make sure our athletes are training safely and successfully. We have extremely passionate athletes and we want to provide them the tools to achieve their goals. Our kids represent a community full of respect, passion, support, and excitement. They travel far and wide to support our young athletes and our athletes value that support. We have recently had success in track and basketball and look to continue our track of success well into the future.

My Project

As a small school, we are limited to the equipment available to develop strength in our athletes, but that has not hindered our efforts. We are always looking for ways to improve and develop our athlete's further. These two machines will allow us to develop strength in areas that we currently are limited in developing. Core strength and wrist/forearm strength are crucial to many of our sports including wrestling, football, softball, and numerous others. Our goal as coaches is to do our best to help our athletes improve and succeed and with this project we are striving to provide the tools to do so.

All success starts in the off-season!

This is a motto that we preach in our programs and we push our athletes to work hard in the off-season to develop strength and conditioning. The weight room is an important piece in our off-season programs, regardless of the sport we coach. We hope to provide a well-rounded athletic experience to help our athletes grow into healthy and successful individuals.
