Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work at a Title 1 school in Harlem, New York, which means our school has a high percentage of children from low-income families.

The students love dance, movement and especially performing!

The costumes are their favorite part of the shows, it brings a professionalism to our performances and gets them excited about dance.

This year we are studying dances from past decades by learning specific dance moves, history and fashion. These costumes will provide something tactile that will help students have a deeper understanding of their decade.
