My Students

I work at a low income school in an ICT classroom. This means that half of the students are general education students and half are special education students. Since this is the case our students work on many different levels and need many of the lessons to be differentiated.

Since the budget cuts we are no longer being allowed to make copies on a regular basis.

This is making it harder to differentiate instruction. Many students require us to differentiate instruction by giving them easier worksheets on the same lesson. For many students completing the workbook pages is too hard of a task but by being able to print and copy we are able to give them work that is less frustrating for them making them feel successful. Students are also asked to copy more information from the board, such as homework and not only is this frustrating to many students it is also taking away from instructional time in our classroom. If we have a copy machine, students no longer need to copy homework. They will be given the homework for the week which is stated in a clear manner and this gives us back much need time for teaching and sharing.

My Project

By donating to this project you will allow us to differentiate instruction on the spot. For example, after finishing a lesson and seeing students struggle with certain workbook pages or writing task we will be able to print different material or copy writing paper that will make the task at hand less frustrating. When students are not frustrated they feel successful and that is our goal. You will also give us back much needed instructional time as well as alleviate the frustration many students feel when they can't copy from the board fast enough. The copy machine will also make parent communication more attainable. You will make the lives of students, teachers and parents a little easier in this time of many hardships.

My students need this copy machine so I can differentiate instruction in the classroom.

They will be so grateful to be able to spend more time learning the material and less time copying it.
