Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, we have a mental health club on campus that is student led. Students host a lot of workshops and events geared towards reducing the mental health stigma that exists. Talking about mental health can feel uncomfortable for many young people. However, by providing a space for these discussions to happen and making the presence of the group known, we will eventually create an environment that is more open and comfortable when speaking about mental health.

Obtaining calm strips, mental health books, and fidgets will help with boosting participation and buy-in of the student body.

These will be incentives for participation and the added bonus is the usefulness of each item! The items that students receive will help with anxiety, depression, and focusing.

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.

Equity Focus
