Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Color plays a huge part in the classroom and human behavior. Whether my students are representing the color blue in serenity while mediating or their enthusiasm when acting out a skit, or by simply sitting quietly being a good listener they are a color. There are moments in each day where my students are stimulated by the color red, displayed by their confidence, excitement, and energy. My students are alive in color in all they do! Each brings a different hue to the classroom to make all the colors of the rainbow and beyond!
My Project
There are two reasons why I would love a printer for my classroom. First, although we have a color copier at school, teachers are very conservative about printing in color excessively. For my students this year, I have purchased the My Guided Readers program by Ana DiGilio in which you print out leveled readers for each reading group. I would LOVE to print 20 copies of full color for each student each week, but always opt for the line art version. A few times, I have printed them in color and what a difference it has made with engagement! A color printer for our classroom will allow me to print these booklets and create a class set for this entire year as well as the years ahead. Secondly, our printers are always down, jammed, or giving error messages you need special training to fix. There is nothing worse than walking into the copy room to see a note taped on the printer or the key pad lit up in red! In those moments the black and white option is all I wish I could have. All in all, my hope in funding this project is for my students to be given the opportunity to be fully engaged by the quality materials offered. By donating to my project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and engagement and broaden the spectrum of learning, you will also brightening their day with the beauty of materials utilized each day!
