Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For many of my students their first classroom experience will occur during their year in kindergarten. This will be a time for them to socialize, problem solve, exchange ideas, voice their opinions and gain the skills needed to build a strong academic foundation. It is important that I create a classroom community which will allow for each and every one of my students to feel, safe, welcome and respected.

Incorporating cooperative games, hands-on manipulatives such as blocks, play-dough, and resources which focus on problem solving such as puzzles and literacy building activities is key to creating a inclusive classroom that will set up my students for success academically, cognitively, and socially.

My primary goal this school year is to provide an environment where my students will learn through hands-on experiences using a variety of learning modalities that will instill a joy for learning in every one of them.
