My Students

Many of my students come from tough home environments where they have to fight and struggle for the things they have. This often leads many of them to be self-centered. Through cooperative activities, that I teach in Physical Education, I plan to help them overcome these barriers.

We are a Title 1 school in the heart of the city.

My students are faced with many challenges outside of our school. The school and gym is a sanctuary for many of my students. Often I keep the gym open until 6 - 7pm, after school days, to offer after school activities.

My Project

I have introduced Omnikin ball to my students which is a great cooperative game. They love it and ask for it all the time. I am requesting a replacement bladder for one of the Omnikin balls that has deflated and one new one to use in my current classes. Teaching cooperative games to my students has helped my classes become more self-aware, respectful of others, and open to new games and activities.

I have wonderful students.

Many of my students come from very severe home situations. With current budget constraints it is hard for my administration to find money for resources needed in the gym. Omnikin is a favorite game of my students. This donation would greatly help me teach and my students learn, cooperation skills. Learning to cooperate and work as team member is a vital key to the social responsibility factor of my students learning.
