My Students

My students are unique, loving, and intelligent 3rd to 5th-grade individuals from low-income communities within South Los Angeles. They bus in to school every morning ready to learn and work hard.

My students are students with Emotional Disturbances (ED).

They have experienced unimaginable challenges and continue to challenge themselves to overcome them. In our classroom, we continue to work on their behavior and social skills, so that they can be seen as the unique, loving, and intelligent individuals that they are.

My Project

Students with Emotional Disturbances have a difficult time dealing with feelings and emotions. They would benefit from having a quiet space for them to remove themselves from difficult/frustration situations or activities. Instead of sending them out of the classroom, this space would them remain in the classroom but still remove themselves from undesired situations.

This donation would help promote self-calming and reflective strategies that can help my students with Emotional Disabilities.

This room divider would be used to convert the current Cool Down desk into an isolated Cool Down area. By having this space, we can make greater improvements in both their behaviors and social skills.
