My Project

First graders are wonderful in that they can be both enthusiastic about their learning, and passionate about their play. Many of these young learners need extra sensory input throughout the day, whether it be to support their focus, emotional regulation, or body control. These fidget tools and sensory items will be used in our classroom break area, and they can also be used by students when they are listening during instruction, or while they are working independently.

My goal is for all of my students to have what they need to be successful within the classroom.

The headphones, chair bands, and other materials from this project will be accessible to all students at all times of the day. Some students may use them more than others, but it is important for the general education classroom to have items that students might need. I know that from year to year, the needs within my classroom will change and I can use these items for years to come.
