This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am so excited to get some tools for a classroom calming area. By having a cozy corner in our room, students will be provided a safe space for recognizing and regulating their emotions in a healthy way.

As part of social and emotional learning, teaching students how to self-regulate can greatly benefit them through their academic journey.

When students are able to recognize their big feelings and regulate their emotions, they are more equipped to learn and retain new information learned at school. The items included will help students engage their senses, use creativity, and identify their emotions.
