My Project

My students on a day-to-day basis struggle to control and regulate their emotions when they are frustrated or angry. In classes, they are easily angered by teacher and peer comments due to a history of trauma or negative experiences and the community they live in. This then leads to behavior and academic challenges at school.

My goal is for these students to be able to regulate their emotions and to be able to cool down faster so they can get back to their academic assignments and improve their grades.

When their emotions are regulated and they calm down faster when an incident occurs they are able to learn easier. and they don't waste learning time.

Your help will be invaluable to improving the lives of these students.

Dr. Owusu Miami Northwestern Senior High School Grades 9-12
