My Students

I teach 23 first graders in a low-income/high poverty district in East Texas. My students come from working families that value education but do not always have the resources or educational background to provide reinforcement of skills learned at school. When they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. Despite the challenges both in and out of the classroom, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students are clever, imaginative and very spontaneous.

They like to move, they love to read, and love lots of positive attention. They deserve the best education possible. These students need materials that will help keep their interest and motivate their desire to learn.

My Project

With these supplies, my students will be able to relax, create and have fun in 1st grade. We need a few station kits to use during our small group learning. We need a new rug for our classroom for stations. My students will be so super excited for a soft rug to sit on instead of hard tile. We will also have a new place to sit at the front of the room on our new rug. Each student will also be able to pick a birthday book to read on their birthday. These supplies will help out our classroom greatly. We really appreciate any donation given!
