My Students

Special Education is not all that special; it is just a class where we can meet their needs. Accessible education means that each student can learn and grow in a supportive and individualized environment.

Giving them access to preparing small meals in the classroom will help them now and in the future.

This class of amazing kiddos loves learning and being challenged, and they absolutely shine when engaged focused.

My Project

As students with disabilities get older and they look at post-secondary life, we notice that we taught them to read and write and help them to communicate. However, real-life is so much more than that.

Real-world skills include cooking and preparing simple meals independently.

By having access to these items in the classroom, we can easily bridge them to the curriculum to create meaningful experiences that help with academics and life. ADL skills for the win, and you can help!

A mini-fridge, griddle, and a microwave will change the life of someone who learns how to heat up easy mac for the first time or make an egg for themselves or make their afterschool popcorn without their mom's help.
