This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

High school students in my Culinary Arts classes need modern, exciting, and visually engaging cookbooks that inspire them to cook with confidence and creativity. The classic Joy of Cooking has its place, but today’s students connect more with colorful, step-by-step recipe books that feature vibrant photos, clear instructions, and practical techniques suited for busy schedules. These updated cookbooks will make a real difference—helping students explore new flavors, master essential techniques, and gain the confidence to cook beyond the classroom. As teenagers, they will soon need these skills for independence, whether cooking for themselves in college, helping at home, or even pursuing careers in the culinary field. Cooking is not just about food; it teaches responsibility, patience, and problem-solving, and the right books can ignite a passion that lasts a lifetime.
