Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our Successful Transition EducationProgram for Students(STEPS) focuses on teacher students with special needs 18-22 independent life skills and employability skills. Your donation would allow us to provide the foundation for us to be able to build up.

Health starts in the kitchen, and teaching those skills is pivotal for our students with special needs.

The basic items you would be providing help us in our in-school cooking lab where we teach young adults how to prepare and cook healthy meals.

They also learn the importance of keeping cooking surfaces and equipment clean and sanitized. Many of these skills may also be transferable to the employment sector. It would allow for them to build employability skills they can utilize to gain employment in the food service industry.
