My Project

Everyone needs to eat. Everyone should clean their kitchens and housing. But how do you learn these skills? For my students, these are things they learn in school with their peers and teachers. Using the stove, the oven, a toaster, and knives are skills all needed to be successful adults in the wider world. Being able to set a table, clear a table, clean the floor, and organize their supplies are also useful activities to practice.

The students can practice their culinary and cleaning skills while interacting with their friends in social environments.

Social skills are 'soft skills' that the students need to learn. Cooking and cleaning allows for a non-academic settings in which to practice life activities that engage the students and relate to their future paths.
